Pray for Nigerian Christians

Christians need to defend Christians.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Rush Limbaugh: The Nigerian Brothers Sue Everyone!

I agree with Rush Limbaugh on this, this story is awesome.

It is so awesome that I am pretty sure Smollett and others (like the City of Chicago and Smollett's attorneys) will settle early. Too bad, it would have been an amazing trial to observe.

Jussie got a pass thanks to his Democrat friends in Chicago (such as Kim Foxx). But the powers that be threw these Nigerian brothers under the bus. Remember they told the police about Smollett's scam. So I wish the Osundairo brothers get justice from those who harmed them.

Why The Media Silence: Nigerian Muslims Murder Over 100 Christians

Don't Christian Lives Matter? Why does the media ignore this?

Instapundit: Breitbart and Media Bias: Isn't This Newsworthy?
The ghastly massacre in Christchurch this week is certainly newsworthy and richly deserving of the universal condemnation it is getting. But let’s also spare a thought for the massacre of over a hundred Christians at the hands of Muslim militants in Nigeria these past few weeks. So far it has been ignored in the MSM.
What happened in Christchurch is a horror and should be condemned and reported on. But the crimes and genocide going on in Nigeria by Muslim Falani militants and Boko Haram are just as bad (and in scope actually a far bigger problem than what occurred in New Zealand).

New American: Why the focus on New Zealand, but not deaths in Nigeria?

While ISIS engages in wholesale rape and murder, Feminists freak over exaggerated and imaginary boogeymen back home...

I noted that yesterday was the 70th Anniversary of Japanese Surrender in WWII.  William Jacobson asks if we could accomplish that task today?  In our current state of readiness and leadership, absolutely not.  But faced with a real threat, the USA could potentially rise to the challenge.  The problem is would we do so quickly enough? While ISIS shows its true character by using gas against Kurdish targets and raping and murdering innocents in the middle east, the west (mostly) ignores and actively downplays the threat.

College men are portrayed (mostly completely falsely and almost always grossly exaggerated when crimes have occurred) as brutal rapist, while real brutal rapists come into our country illegally (how many Americans need to die from this). And ISIS and its fellow Islamists are opening terrorizing populations in Nigeria, Syria and Iraq. ISIS is evil. Feminists give them a pass.

Fictional vs. Real Rape

Unlike the reality for girls held by ISIS and Boko Haram

HBO's Game of Thrones deviated a bit from the books, with Sophie Turner's character Sansa Stark having a brutal wedding night with psycho-sociopath Ramsey Bolton. Fans were hoping Sansa would somehow avoid the brutality of the Boltons. I appreciate that people find this disturbing (since it was) but isn't the wide spread real rape and abuse of young girls by ISIS and Boko Haram even more disturbing than a fictionalized abusive marriage (that was done off camera)?

Hot Air: Trigger Warning Crew Freak Out Over GoT

The Atlantic give a pretty good review (and critique) of this GoT episode
GoT did not glorify rape in this episode
Instapundit: Feminists need to get a grip and GoT is relentlessly sexist, but not against women

With thousand of woman and girls being raped and brutalized in Syria, Iraq and Africa…why is the media so obsessed with the fabricated/exaggerated tales of Lena Dunham and UVA's Jackie?

What is shown above is justified by religion. Yet the media is focused on Lena Dunham and
Sabrina Rubin Erdely's manufactured rape fantasies?

What am I missing?

Hey maybe to feminists, the media and the left black and brown lives and women (if they are not a white cable celebrity or fit a certain demographic profile) do matter less?

Maetenloch at AoSHQ
Instapundit: Shouldn't facts matter? and discrepancies (both the subject and the writers to blame), was it all a fabrication (WaPo is inching closer to that conclusion), and why the flawed reporting (hmmm).

TOM: As UVA story falls apart, Feminists try to save rape culture narrative…
TOM: We are so doomed
They made PJ O'Rourke write about Lena Dunham…the horror, the horror (and he probably doesn't do drugs anymore to mitigate the pain)
Mark Steyn sums it up so well…

Hillary Clinton's State Department Refused To List al Qaeda linked Boko Haram as a terrorist organization…

Two years ago Nigerian Christians begged Secretary Clinton to recognize the danger of Boko Haram.
JWF:  Secretary of State Clinton Failed To Identify al Qaeda linked Boko Haram As A Terrorist Organization.
“The one thing she could have done, the one tool she had at her disposal, she didn’t use. And nobody can say she wasn’t urged to do it. It’s gross hypocrisy,” said a former senior U.S. official who was involved in the debate. “The FBI, the CIA, and the Justice Department really wanted Boko Haram designated, they wanted the authorities that would provide to go after them, and they voiced that repeatedly to elected officials. What Clinton didn’t mention was that her own State Department refused to place Boko Haram on the list of foreign terrorist organizations in 2011, after the group bombed the U.N. headquarters in Abuja. The refusal came despite the urging of the Justice Department, the FBI, the CIA, and over a dozen senators and congressmen.

Boko Haram is rampaging Nigeria: Hundreds killed in fresh attack.
Rush notes that John Kerry laments that Boko Haram does not offer a health care plan (seriously, Secretary Kerry said that)

Boko Haram, a Nigerian Muslim terrorist group, slaughters Muslims in Nigeria

Boko Haram, the official name is The Congregation and People of Tradition for Proselytism and Jihad, slaughter non Muslims (Christians) too, but to intimidate Muslims they have no problem slaughtering them to keep them in line.  They consider western education sinful and are likely aligned with al Qaeda.  They have killed thousands in Nigeria.

Is Nigeria the next Mali?

While the French deal with the situation in Mali, there is another troubled country just to the south.  Nigeria is a large country, both blessed and cursed with natural resources.  Its oil wealth is enormous, but the corruption spawned from it has arguably crippled the country.

It is a country with approximately 250 ethnic groups and over 500 languages spoken (although based in its British colonial past, its official language is English).  The three major tribal groups are Hausa and Fulani 29% (primarily Muslim and located in the north), Yoruba 21% (about half Muslim and half Christian and located to the east), and Igbo (Ibo) 18% (who are predominately Christian and located along the coast and in the Niger river delta).  Those groups make up the majority of the country.  The country is roughly half Muslim and half Christian, with varying animist and other minority religions.

The Ibo were the group that broke away as the succession state of the Republic of Biafra.  That occurred in 1967 and led to a brutal civil war in Nigeria that lasted for 30 months and resulted in over a million deaths (some estimates as high as three million).

Nigeria is a country with serious political, ethnic and religious differences.

Is Nigeria becoming the new frontier of al Qaeda?   Almost certainly there is some involvement from outside Islamic forces.  Nigeria own Islamist militant movement, Boko Haram, is trying to impose a Sharia state across the country.  Boko Haram has not been destroyed and continues to operate in the north.

The Islamic World on "I ♥ Mohammed Day"

Love the Prophet Day also celebrated in Pakistan.  17 reported to have died.

And Nigerian youth did this to protest the anti Islam film (this was actually a few days ago):
I know Liberals do not care about people, but a cat?  They must care about a cat.
I understand the arguments against riling up Muslims.  And the French were right in allowing cartoons, but wrong in denying protests (at least give them a chance of protesting peacefully).    But the shame is on Muslims for committing crimes, not in punishing or criticizing those who engage in free speech.  You cannot empower such barbaric behavior as demonstrated in these pictures by rewarding it.

Couldn't They Held Off Their Jihad For Christmas Day?

The Religion of Peace® is not being very peaceful in Nigeria.  And if things blow up in Egypt, well can we expect a lot more refugees looking for a home?   Or will we depend on the kindness of the new order there?  Like we did in Darfur.
