Bill Bowerman, Nike's Founder, RIP

Bill Bowerman, 10th Mountain Division, WWII Combat Veteran

One Silver Star, Four Bronze Stars, service in Italy

I am going to take a wild guess Bill Bowerman did not have a problem with the Betsy Ross flag. Claims that this flag is racist are ludicrous (Betsy Ross was a Quaker). This slander is deeply insulting to those who fought under the flag and both highly decisive and cynical. What is Nike thinking? It both saddens and infuriates me. The decisions makers at Nike behind this should be ashamed of themselves. It is not just a bad decision, but a profoundly wrong one.

I am a huge supporter of free speech. People and think or say what they want. While they have that right, that does not make them right.

Bill Bowerman was a hero, teacher, and innovator. Thank God for men like this when we needed them. May he rest in peace.

Masculinity: Casablanca and Game of Thrones (spoilers) and Heroics

y
TOM: The Myth of the Masculinity Crisis and some good advice from the Onion Knight

I also watched Casablanca the other night. I am also following Game of Thrones. I saw some similarities.

Heroics are not gender specific. Both men and women can be (and are) heroes. But there are statistical differences between the genders (both good and bad) that cannot be denied.

The world is full of guys…be a man

The Other McCain brings up an old but good story about how a grandfather saves his granddaughter from rapist thugs. Then Robert Stacy McCain explores the mental illness evidenced in the feminist community. The only good thing you can say about this is they are (hopefully) a small minority.

The Other McCain then reports on the story of a Teenage hooker who is claiming she was abused by a Democrat friend of Bill Clinton Jeffrey Epstein (and Prince Andrew). Did you know that alleged rapist Bill Clinton and alleged rapist Jeffrey Epstein were pals. Jeffrey Epstein was popular with lot of Democrats before his fall and disgrace. Ace has a feel good story of how to deal with rapists (which RSM liked a lot)

So as a palate cleanser from all this madness, go watch this film and be a man… (or a woman looking for a man)

President Obama refuses to release information on the Benghazi attack: What did the President know and when did he know it?

President Obama is getting defensive and peevish.

Retired Admiral James Lyons demands full disclosure on Benghazi.

Father of slain SEAL Tyrone Woods, Charles Woods comments:
“My question of the president would be this: Your Honor, I respect your office as president. But if this attack on American citizens, on American soil, happened 2,000 miles away from Washington, D.C. — say in Los Angeles or in Seattle — would you have waited seven hours before you sent the first airplane? Would you have waited seven hours until the attack was over? Would you have waited a couple of days until you had all of the videos and all the information before you responded in a responsible military way?” … “This is about honor, courage and about love for America. And remember this, Mr. President: My son and the others died heroes and it’s better to die the death of a hero than it is to live the life of a coward. If you are responsible for the death of my son, I forgive you, I love you. I also love America.”
I agree with Serr8d, this should be President Obama's Waterloo.
Jonah Goldberg explains why most of the Mainstream Media is not covering this story...
The Anchoress:  The lies by the Obama Administration and why is this not being questioned.

Update:
Elizabeth Price Foley at Instapundit quotes Admiral Lyons calling this "un-American."
Protein Wisdom:  Obama is so offended you asked, he refuses to talk anymore.
