Happy Passover

Richard McBee does a great job analyzing this painting. The painting captures a pivotal point of the Passover story. Moses under God's direction leads the people to freedom, only to find them worshiping a false god when he came down off Mount Sinai. As a result the Israelis had to wander another 40 years in the wilderness before being allowed to enter the promised land.

The Passover story is central to Jewish faith and identity, but of course, transcends that and applies to all people.
