Alien: Covenant | Prologue: The Crossing

Inverse: Did they reveal too much?

I got suckered into Prometheus, hoping it would be great and it turned out meh. Are Ridley Scott and Alien producers going to do it to me again?

Ridley Scott is back: Bladerunner and Prometheus sequels in the works…what could go wrong? Warning: potential spoilers

What could go wrong?  A lot…but this is hilarious.  More here.
I loved Bladerunner, but how are they going to pull off Deckard aging?
Is a sequel crazy?
If he was a replicant, the aging thing does not exactly work.  One of the great things of the first movie is it only suggested it, but did not answer it (although they did with the unicorn origami).  Still, this by Ace is well said too.

More rumors on what Ridley Scott is up to…

They don't even have Ms. Theron for a Prometheus sequel… (some bonus Rule 5 is required, as is FMJRA linkage...)

Prometheus Questioned: Spoilers and Explainations

This video is pretty funny (stop right now if you have not seen Prometheus yet):

I thought the movie (while flawed) was interesting.  When it was discovered the Engineers were the same DNA as us, I figured that it will turn out they are in fact us.  As in us in the future.  Because the explanation that the Engineers decide to seed primeval Earth and then wait a billion years or so for us to evolve seems a bit far fetched (and that we miraculously match their DNA after all that evolution).  Wouldn't they have evolved in the interim?   Even for some super advanced culture--a couple of billion years (which is how long life has been on Earth) is an immense span of time.

But after finding out that the original script involved an alien "space Jesus" and the Engineers wanted to kill us for killing space Jesus (how Mel Gibson of them)...well Ridley Scott was smart to leave that part out of the final film.

I also thought Lost was good the first couple of seasons.  I got suckered again.  Ace of Spades has a thread on it.

World War Z in trouble: Release pushed back and Damon Lindelof brought in for rewrite...

Lindelof brought in to rewrite the movie script for World War Z...  Given this movie is already in production and mostly filmed, this is a big deal.

A comment from the Hollywood Reporter story: "Let me get this straight: a screenwriter whose films are considered to have very weak stories is brought in to save a weak story?? Does anyone actually work at the studio know what a story is?"

Okay, that commentator has a point.  I, however, liked Prometheus.  I agree how Lost ended was disappointing.

Prometheus: It is a very good movie and worth watching several times...

Noomi Rapace goes a great job in this movie...

The New York Times review...  If you are a fan of Bladerunner and Alien, you should like this movie (I liked it).  It is slower than Aliens and less of a monster movie.  It deals with some interesting issues and raises a lot of questions.  It is definitely an Alien prequel.  It is not a masterpiece, but it is a solid movie (the acting is well done).  And I am glad to say the spoilers that I found months ago on the web  were not the script of this movie.

This link however is full of spoilers.  I would recommend you look at this after you see the film.  Same with this one.

And here is a prequel to the prequel...

Update:  Prometheus explained.  Hmmm.  Space Jesus?  Jesus.

Protests we hope actually happen: The 100 Midget March!

100 Midget March Threatened!
Yes, the 100 Midget March is Threatened.  Snow White and the Huntsman screwed them out of dwarf roles!  Of course, they prefer to be called little people.  How small minded of those producers!  But it does star the lovely Charlize Theron (even if she is playing a not so nice character in this and Prometheus).  This seems like not so big a dispute.  And if they do protest, damage should be minimal.

Prometheus Trailer with possible spoilers...

I am a big Ridley Scott fan.   So I like this already.
Update:
New Trailer:  Happy Birthday David
Prometheus is coming...
Charlize Theron does naked pushups in the film...which I am guessing tested well with male science fiction fans
Update:  Prometheus is opening in June...
Spoilers below and at this link?  You have been warned.
