Ford v Ferrari: A Review

The film is fictionalized in some of the personal dynamics between the Ford suits and Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles. Still--it is an excellent film and the racing (although abridged for the film) is realistically portrayed. There is no CGI in the racing scenes.

I was worried that Matt Damon was miscast as Carroll Shelby--but he did a decent job. The film is primarily focused on Christian Bale's character Ken Miles. Great performance by Bale. Jon Bernthal is very good as Lee Iacocca. This is a film to see.

Caitriona Balfe: Mollie Miles She does a great job as Mrs. Miles.

The relationship of the Miles family is great.

Matt Damon Pimping For Harvey Weinstein?

After this revelation, will Matt Damon spare us more chidey lectures?

Three women––among them Argento and a former aspiring actress named Lucia Evans—told me that Weinstein raped them, allegations that include Weinstein forcibly performing or receiving oral sex and forcing vaginal sex. Four women said that they experienced unwanted touching that could be classified as an assault. In an audio recording captured during a New York Police Department sting operation in 2015 and made public here for the first time, Weinstein admits to groping a Filipina-Italian model named Ambra Battilana Gutierrez, describing it as behavior he is “used to.” Four of the women I interviewed cited encounters in which Weinstein exposed himself or masturbated in front of them.

Saving Private Rembrandt?

The overall initial reviews are not very good...
I liked the "Saving Private Rembrandt" line.  I do like well made WWII movies.  This is a project which George Clooney got his pals to work in on relatively low salaries with back end deals if the film is successful.  While Clooney and Damon are known for making pretentious crappy movies, and have pretentious idiotic personal politics, they occasionally make very good films. And some of the reviews say the film is okay.  And in a refreshing bit of clarity, they apparently make the Soviet troops to be bad guys too (along with the Nazis).  Hmmm, so is this a good movie or not?  I will go and see this film and let you know what I think.

I will throw in a Cate Blanchett Rule 5, because never let a Rule 5 opportunity go to waste:

And one extra Bonus Rule 5 for the ladies!
