Eastland in 1957. It is an interesting interview (it is not available on YouTube). Most today won't support Senator Eastland's positions on segregation, but Eastwood is right pointing out racism (and the hypocrisy) in the North at the time. Segregation, in terms of neighborhoods, is still very much the norm in the North today. Senate Eastland was right about that, the South is more integrated.
Biden's comments and the reaction to it will probably come up in the pending Democrat debates. While I doubt Democrats will bring up NXIVM and Raniere with Kirsten Gillibrand, I suspect we will be hearing more about Biden's civil relationships with segregationists.
Powerline aplauds Biden for not apologizing. While I agree in that sentiment in a general sense (giving into the social justice mob is a bad idea), it is too soon to tell if Biden will fold or not. You have Harris, Booker, and De Blasio criticizing Biden.
