If Insider Trading Is A Crime, Why Can Congress Do It?
Rub A Dub Dub, It's Fun In The Tub: Senate congeniality means you rub my back and I'll rub yours...
It is both parties. They are thick as thieves and corrupt as hell. Not only did Congress exempt themselves from Obamacare, but they also exempted themselves from insider trading.
And "Honorable" John McCain is as corrupt and dirty as they come. Yes, McCain's wife is very wealthy, but John McCain himself has amassed quite a fortune on his own. He is worth tens of millions of dollars. How do you compile that sort of wealth on a public salary?
Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton are not the only ones feeding at the government trough. Mitch McConnell, John Kasich (good advice to constituents on how to buy a house), Harry Reid are examples of people "public service" who have amassed multi-million dollar fortunes.
Even Socialist Bernie Sanders managed to score a few choice real estate properties, while his wife ran a college into bankruptcy. Feel the Bern indeed.
So we wonder, why things never seem to change? Because once you win the lottery of getting in the House and Senate, you haver zero personal incentive to change it. And they get to make the oversight rules, on themselves.

Is firing Preet Bharara an unforced error by President Trump? Update: You're Fired!
I can understand the caution of the Trump Administration about Baharara, he was at least signaling he was open to be Attorney General under Hillary Clinton (had she won) and was a former legal advisor to Chuck Schumer. Still, does it make sense to fire him now or wait and see? Jazz Shaw makes some good points. So does the NY Post.
Trump should do what is the best interest of his administration's goals and the country's. Legitimately, Trump wants his own people working for him. It seems to me you can do both (although Bharara may have burned that bridge by laying down an ultimatum). The President can say he intends to eventually replace all Obama political appointees in the Justice Department, but not rush on certain select cases like Bharara's.
Regardless if Bharara goes immediately or later, it would be smart for the Trump Administration to defuse and dampen this transition if they can.
Update:
You're fired: Preet was sort of a dick and worked for Schumer, so I will defer to Trump on this one (even if he was going after De Blasio and Cuomo for corruption, he also screwed over D'Souza). See ya!
Mike Allen has what really went down with Bharara and Trump Administration tried to call Bharara on Thursday

Conflict of Interest: Attorney General Eric Holder and Jon Corzine!
![]() |
| Jon Corzine Lost more than a billion dollars and protected by fellow Democrats |
![]() |
| Attorney General Eric Holder Mexican gun runner, protects Black Panthers from voter intimidation charges, and partisan hack |
What do these two kids have in common (other than being Democrats), well Eric Holder's law firm represented Jon Corzine's company MF Global.
No wonder there has been no real investigation or action on Jon Corzine losing over a billion dollars of investors' money. Despite the fact Jon Corzine was shown to have directed his employees to transfer money out of client accounts and Corzine lied about it to Congress.
These two are almost like a Separated at Birth.

Frontline takes on Jon Corzine: How Corzine steered regulators, twisted the rules, and made a fatal six billion dollar bet...
![]() |
| Now Corzine is just bundling cash for Barack Obama's re-election effort |
Zero Hedge explains:
While the sur-realities of just what Corzine and the rest of the MF Global 'traders' did has been extensively discussed here and elsewhere, PBS' Frontline provides the most succinct (and relatively in-depth) documentary on just what occurred from how the corrupt CEO lobbied regulators who had the power to stop his risky bets to the endgame realization of the missing customer money. A narrative, not just of "a bet that went bad," but "a Wall Street morality tale." Must watch!
The story of Jon Corzine, the former head of Goldman Sachs and political power broker, who took over MF Global in the spring of 2010 with oversize ambition and a passion for risk. But after a massive bet on European debt turned sour, the firm lay in ruins, with more than a billion dollars of customer funds missing. Why isn't Eric Holder prosecuting Jon Corzine for this? Good question.

Wall Street Repo Men
Great article at NRO.
There is also a lesson in this tale from Instapundit. Ben Nelson is not an evil man, but he was corrupted by this system. And this corruption is in both parties. There are still people who actually care about this country and do not want this corruption to continue. Be it from Paulson and his Goldman Sach cronies working for Bush or Summer, Geithner, and Rubin and their Goldman Sach cronies working for Clinton and Obama. And you don't think they are trying to back stop their positions with Romney if Obama goes down? This insider corruption has to stop.
And it is frustrating that the one politician who gets it, is also completely nuts on most other issues and is unelectable.
Update: But let's not forget who turbo charged the current depression we are in.
Update II: Ace of Spades on the story...
Update III: Hugh Hewitt does not like this article (what a surprise).
