This is depressing. I doubt Donald Trump can win the general--due to Democrat dirty tricks, a polarizing personality, and also self inflicted wounds by Trump. DeSantis's national campaign is going nowhere (and the fight between Trump and him are hurting both their chances in the general election). I like Vivek Ramaswamy a lot, but I do not see it as his time yet.
And Doug Burgum? He managed to qualify for the August debates by giving out $20 gift cards to those who donated $1. Burgum's campaign has a Mitt Romney 2.0 stink to it. That leaves Glenn Youngkin as a possible.
Trump is going to likely be the nominee--unless he implodes. And to those NeverTrumpers, what we got under Biden was a disaster for the country. When it came to policy--Trump was great. NeverTrumpers seems to never acknowledge that--Trump policy positions were generally ok.
You can criticize President Trump on Covid handling (he never should have gotten Fauci in front of a camera)--but mistakes in that regard to Covid shutdowns also applies to 99% of politicians. It was the Republicans who reacted sooner and oppened up. Trump did not impead that.
Given how much damage another Democrat (if it is not Biden, then someone like Newsom) could do--the GOP better get it together well before November 2024.
Hey bros here is how we win.
You see. You must “press the gas” on what works.
Then you gotta “press the breaks” on what doesn’t.
It is sad about DeSantis. He is a very good Governor, a conservative, and he could conceivably win the general election. But not with the campaign he is running right now. It is poorly done.
.@RonDeSantis is the strongest Republican candidate against Joe Biden, and it's not even close.
DeSantis will clean house in the key swing states Republicans need to be victorious. https://t.co/94WgGQ8Ycv

This is a disgusting lie, and while I'm "do whatever it takes to beat Biden" person, I'm not going to blame Republicans who are completely done with Trump and this party come 2024.
I defended this dude from the Russian collusion hoax for years, and he's using the same tactics. pic.twitter.com/wo6AFN6gRO
No, I want to have a primary. The indictments are part of the battlespace. They exist. They are wrong. That is irrelevant. We have to deal with reality. https://t.co/emi9aoyF8f
I will throw in some Babes for Trump for Rule 5. But this race so far does not seem to have the optimism of 2016--just a lot of anger. I get why the anger with what the Democrats are doing--but that does not win general elections.
