Disappointing. I like most Jack Ryan* films and the Amazonseries. Ok, I did not like season two.
Shadow Recruit as a film though didn't completely work. I thought Chris Pine and Kevin Costner were ok in it, but Keira Knightley was weird (she was inconsistent to the point of being distracting) and Kenneth Branagh as the Russian bad guy (meh). Sometime Ms. Knightley is quite good, and then she does a scruntchy face that is supposed to be cute...but comes off well scruntchy.
The underlying story from 2013 was sort of interesting, given where we are now in 2022. I do not want to give it away if you haven't seen it--even if in practical terms it was not very plausible. It was not based on a Tom Clancy book and it shows.
Agree with you totally on Amazon's Jack Ryan series. Season one was the cherry, season two was the pit. Clancy's career paralleled Orson Welles in many ways. He started out with his magnum opus, Hunt for Red October, and then began his slide downwards. (Although, much of what he described in Clear and Present Danger looked like it could have been coming off a Reuter's news feed. As for the movies, Alec Baldwin was credible enough in Red October, but my personal belief is that Clancy heard Baldwin shoot his liberal mouth off and Clancy told the movie makers "Anybody but Baldwin". Sum of all Fears was sabotaged by two things: Political correctness ( we couldn't accuse Arabs of wanting to kill us, now could we?) and NO ONE could believe that Ben Affleck was the smartest guy in the room! Harrison Ford did his usual stand up job in being the one guy to save the universe, with nothing more than a "flesh wound" to show for it!

Keira would be a 10 with a lot more chest. The flapper look rates 6.5 at best.
