Hillary Clinton's Campaign Is Defrauding Its Own Small Donors

The Observer broke this story, reporting how the Clinton Campaign is systematically over charging its poorest small donors. The question is why? The short term gain (beyond it being illegal) would seem not to be worth it, you are just alienating those voters you cheated and presumably a whole lot more.
The overcharges are occurring so often that the fraud department at one of the nation’s biggest banks receives up to 100 phone calls a day from Clinton’s small donors asking for refunds for unauthorized charges to their bankcards made by Clinton’s campaign. One elderly Clinton donor, who has been a victim of this fraud scheme, has filed a complaint with her state’s attorney general and a representative from the office told her that they had forwarded her case to the Federal Election Commission.
“We get up to a hundred calls a day from Hillary’s low-income supporters complaining about multiple unauthorized charges,” a source, who asked to remain anonymous for fear of job security, from the Wells Fargo fraud department told the Observer. The source claims that the Clinton campaign has been pulling this stunt since Spring of this year. The Hillary for America campaign will overcharge small donors by repeatedly charging small amounts such as $20 to the bankcards of donors who made a one-time donation. However, the Clinton campaign strategically doesn’t overcharge these donors $100 or more because the bank would then be obligated to investigate the fraud.
Daily Caller: Hmmm, Crooked Is As Crooked Does?
A lot of small frauds sure do add up

I assume it is inside corrupt staffers or hackers (or both) stealing from the Clinton campaign data base. They go for the small donors since those credit charges are under the $100 fraud verification limits of the credit card companies. It is probably not just the money, but also identity theft. Thieves can also get away with more small time frauds than they can trying to get sizable amounts.

But even if that turns out to be the case, that is not good news for Team Clinton. These voters are probably turned off to further supporting the candidate whose campaign just stole from them (or allowed them to be ripped off).

It also shows Clinton's campaign is not competent when it comes to cyber security (hmmm, what other issue could that play into). This was not Colin Powell's chidey but personal emails getting hacked--this is donor's financial and credit card data.

Hillary was also so incompetent she put classified State Department information and emails and comingled them with Clinton Foundation communications on a very hackable private server.

The media will pretend it did not happen. Trump would be smart to bring it up, though, when they challenge him over allegations about Trump U. It is not like Trump hasn't Rick Rolled the media before.

You can also be sure Team Clinton will initially deny all of it-- denial has always been Clinton Operating Procedure. She can't help herself (even when later on things are proven otherwise).  Which of course will make many of us wonder what did Hillary Clinton know about her campaign defrauding her own supporters and when did she know it.

And did Hillary get to "wet her beak" on any of this loot?

  1. Hillary's treatment of small donors reflects her proposed treatment of small business which is nothing different than Obama's. Day after day she reiterates that she will be just a third Obama term.
