An ambitious four film series, which Kevin Costner partially funded. So far it is a finanical disaster, which is not surprising (Critical Drinker's review is spot on). Hey, I even liked The Postman, but Kevin Costner decided to burn his bridges with Yellowstone and do this? Well maybe not quite as dumb as Megalopolis, but still very dumb.
I watched it on Max. The first film is beautifully filmed and the acting is ok, but it is poorly structured. There are too many story lines, making it difficult to track what is going on.
I am sure the subsequent films will attempt to tie it all together, but this works better as a mini series than four feature length films months (even years) apart. Especially since they have already decided not to run Part II in the theaters (it will stream in a pay for view format).
