Rooting out Hamas is going to be very difficult, and will take years (there are a lot of Hamas members who will hide in the 2.5 million population), but Israel has the will to do so now. The biggest losers will be the Palestianians in Gaza. Some are victims of Hamas, but many are enthusiasic supporters. They brought this on themselves.
