Knock at the Cabin



M. Night Shyamalan is usually a hit or miss director. This particular film was better than I expected (I thought it was going to be a miss). It was not a big hit either. It was decent though (and a bit more thought provoking than the typical horror movie). I found it interesting and entertaining. The story and plot is rather thin, but what saved the film was the acting--especially the little girl Wen (played by Kristen Cui) and Dave Bautista.

I don't want to give it away (it is a M. Night Shyamalan film). The main theme is about making difficult decisions. What would have made it better, however, is more ambiguity.  

I have not read the underlying novel it is based on. Reading about it will result in spoilers for the movie (even though significant plot changes were made).  Once you either read the book or see the movie, then you can compare the two.
