Let's just say the war is not going to Putin's plan...

Last year, Putin assumed this would be a shock and awe invasion and Ukraine would have fallen in a week or two. Before the Western outrage got too high, victory would have been a fait accompli and the impacts would be minimal. Instead is a quagmire and a disaster both for Ukraine and Russia. Russia has managed to avoid the some of the impact of economic sanctions (thanks to Biden restricting production in North America and driving up oil prices), but the human toll is enormous.
