A remake of Red Dawn, this one had the Chinese Communists as the bad guys, but then switched to rename them as North Korea to avoid upseting the Chinese Communists. There are a few references to Russians and others, since how in the hell is North Korea going to occupy the United States on its own? It is goofy.
The original Red Dawn was completely implasible too, but even with the mis-naming villian debacle, this one goes beyond that. Chris Hemsworth and the rest of the cast are ok, but the writing is weak. The producers and studio of course undermine the allegorical theme of the film, by kowtowing to the ChiComs in real life and re-writing the bad guys, but then again, welcome to Hollywood. It is available to stream so it is worth a watch, but meh.
