Drive My Car

Not a terrible film, just a flawed one. It is about a playwrite dealing with the unexpected death of his wife and resulting regret. He directs a production of Checkov's Uncle Vanya in Hiroshima.

The actors are all pretty good. The cinematography and writing are good. Yet the presentation came off emotionally flat (at least for me). The ending was good, but it was too long to get there and the film could have benefited from some editing.
