Democrats and Media Desperately Trying To Spin This Disease Disaster ☣️😷🌪️

The United States responded to Covid-19 in someways earlier than other countries (in Trump banning flights from China) and in other ways about the same as Canada and Europe.  While the media tries to spin it otherwise, Democrats were not recognizing the threat in January or February either.

There is a very concentrated effort by the media to spin Tony Fauci and others from the CDC has heroes battling the Trump Administration in protecting Americans. That requires push back.

Real Clear Poltics did a piece shoing that Fauci's early statements on Coronavirus were not sounding the alarm.  Read the whole thing.  I am not against Dr. Fauci, but he was hardly describing this as warranting a complete shut down of the U.S. economy in January or February.

Look what Anthony Fauci was saying on January 23, 2020 in a JAMA interview:

And in China right now, as of this evening's report, there are over 2,900 cases and about 83 to 85 deaths. The numbers literally change by the hour, so at any given time you'll probably have a slightly inaccurate number. It has spread to all 30 provinces in China and it has gone to more than a dozen countries outside of China, mostly in Asia, but also in France and Germany and now here in the United States. We have five cases. One in Seattle, one in Chicago, one in Arizona, and two in California. So, right now, when you have a travel-related case, that's, you know, in many respects concerning, but we handled it properly. We did the standard public health measure of identification, isolation, and contact tracing. Fortunately, there have not been secondary cases in the United States, but again, for the listeners of the program and for the people who will be looking at the podcast, I would not be surprised if there are several more travel-related cases and even a secondary case in the United States.

As Dr. Fauci noted, it is an evolving problem, but his thinking on how to respond to this had not shifted as soon as Democrats and their Media allies would like to think. On February 29, 2020, Dr. Fauci was still telling Americans they did not have to significantly change their lifestyle. On March 9, 2020, Dr. Fauci saying that it was still ok to go on a cruise. I am not blaming Dr. Fauci for underestimating the danger, but that was true for most people at that time. Let's remember how DeBlasio, Pelosi, and Cuomo were reacting at the same time.

The blame for this disaster rests ultimately with the Chinese Communist authorities that under played and under reported the danger eminating from Wuhan in December and January.  

I've given Fauci every benefit of the doubt. But...

You cannot square him accepting the NYT/CNN premise that he was the hero calling for mitigation in mid Feb and him telling us to go to the movies/gym/mall on Feb 29 and on a cruise March 9..
