Songfacts: Pixies: Here Comes Your Man

The song is supposedly about hobos and earthquakes in California but given its lyrics it could also be about Nagasaki (the bomb was named Fat Man and the aircraft carrying it Bockscar).  Fat Man was dropped at 11:01 over Nagaski (the secondary target) on August 9, 1945.

    Love the Pixies! I saw them a long time ago and then watched Kim Deal's slower rise in The Breeders. I saw her band just recently and they were great! Check out David Bowie's take on "The Pixies" here: link
