Iran keeps escallating things, President Trump tries to de-escallate.

President Trump does not want a war with Iran and certainly does not want to spike oil prices and hurt the economy. Iran wants to get sanctions lifted, so it is being provocative on purpose, after the tanker attack last week. The US claims the drone was in international airspace and Iran disputes this. I assume eventually someone will have some proof one way or the other.

Resolving this will require some finesse. We will see how things go.

Update: If Iran does force a serious confrontation, it might hurt gas prices in the sort term, but it would prove to be a boom for U.S. oil fracking. The U.S. can inflict a lot of damage on Iran without a lot of risk.   I also listened to NPR this morning, they are way confused over this. Listening to the reporter trying to spin this negative while interviewing Jack Reed (D-RI) was amazing (as an example of media bias). Reed to his credit was not at all trying to slam the President (not like the biased NPR reporter).
