Maduro vs. Guaidó: Who Will Prevail?
This is just a very fluid situation. Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido on Tuesday called for a military uprising to oust President Nicolas Maduro, who is the socialist successor to Hugo Chavez. Venezuela's economy has been in collapse for some time. Maduro was about to flee for Cuba, until the Russians encouraged him to stay.
Update: Guaidó forces are quick to point out this is not a coup, but an effort to restore the democratic government. Maduro is refusing to leave office.
