In 1998, Joe Biden admitted to Arlen Specter that “It was clear to me from the way she was answering the questions, [Anita Hill] was lying” about a key part of her testimony.

Joe Biden was right about that (at least). I am pretty sure Anita Hill was lying about Clarence Thomas too. There were inconsistencies in Anita Hill's testimony. It did not add up. 

But Biden is in a bit of a pickle over this. This is not about a good faith dispute over who was telling the truth. We saw that standard is long gone after what the Democrats tried to do to Brett Kavanaugh. The Democrat Party hates Clarence Thomas and Biden is perceived (by his own party) as not doing enough to block him from getting on the Supreme Court.
