True Detective: Season 3

So far so good on True Detective Season 3. Not quite as odd and unique as Season 1, but not as tedious and slow as Season 2

I watched the first two episodes Sunday night. Crimes and criminal investigations involving children are difficult (even if fictional) but the show handles it well. Mahershala Ali (as Detective Wayne Hays) and Stephen Dorff (as Detective Roland West) are partners on what becomes a disturbing and difficult case.  Carmen Ejogo (Amelia Reardon) is a school teacher and the developing love interest of Detective Hays.

The primary player in this show is Mahershala Ali's character. A Vietnam veteran (who served as a tracker and combat reconnaissance) and a conservative. He is also suffering in flash forward scenes from dementia (years after the crime).

  1. I'm sure it's good series and I look forward to watching some of season one soon.
    BTW: reconnaissance.
Small point but an important distinction.
