Roberts and Trump

Roberts's push back and subsequent siding with the liberal wing...

Chip posted some comments that might give some insight on what Roberts is doing (and they are good comments). The 9th Circuit Judge's ruling seems at least what I have seen, to match what the law says. Still, if the law is what it is, why the split of the leftist and conservative wings? Maybe there is more to it? I have not read all the briefing and there are no opinions there than the 9th circuit one to dissect.

If the law is clear, Roberts should just speak though his ruling and not comment publicly (I thought it was foolish of him to respond to Trump's Obama judge comment). Roberts never spoke up when President Obama criticized Justices Alito publicly. Why did Roberts hold back then? Roberts is way too concerned with making the court seem "balanced." That sort of political gamesmanship is not something the Supreme Court should engage in.

Roberts swing vote on Obamacare was an aObomination. He was completely wrong on that one. That sort of tendency by so called conservatives to get all wobbly is why we got Trump.
