WHY HASN'T SCOTT ISRAEL BEEN FIRED?

  1. It looks like standards have changed since Anthony Weiner, aka Carlos Danger. Progressives have never been big on personal accountability anyway.

  2. He is a true coward. Unfit to be an officer. Or draw a government paycheck.

  3. Pretty sure he's an elected official. Unless there's provision for recalls in Florida law, he's there until he's voted out of office. N.B., in such a transaction, there's a supply side and a demand side. If the Broward establishment doesn't step up or some go-getter in the professional / business class doesn't step up, he'll be there until he feels like leaving.

Recall John Grisham's The Innocent Man? The prosecutor who perpetrated that catastrophe was not only not punished, he remained in office nine years after his rancid little office had been exposed in open court. He never faced serious opposition and turned the office over to a protegee who had worked for him for 20 years. Total failure on the part of the Pontotoc County (Okla) Bar. Broward County is much more populous and likely to have some aggressive and contentious person who will want to clean Scott Israel's clock, so you've a better shot there. But not a sure shot.
