It is time to break forever with rabid NeverTrumpers...

Just say no to these 'cosplay conservatives'

Despite the image above (Game of Thrones is a fantasy show with some allegorical story lines), I am not suggesting the rabid NeverTrumpers should be hung or any physical harm should come to them, but they are traitors and should be dead to us.  And when I say NeverTrumpers should be ignored forever, this is a very small group who have shown zero objectivity over the last year. You know who they are.

I completely get having reservations, even opposition, to Donald Trump. He was not my first choice to be the GOP standard bearer.  But he won the nomination and then beyond anything I thought possible, won the general election.

Donald Trump has been a far better than what we would have gotten with Hillary Clinton. He could be even more effective, if we rallied to him.  But I am sick and tired of hearing of deadbeat losers and cosplay conservatives like Evan McMullin (he was a nobody before, but he makes money touting Trump hatred) or other NeverTrumper attackers like Bill Kristol (who is just a bigger, fatter whore). Most of these rabid NeverTrumpers are of similar ilk. Fuck them. It is bad enough dealing with the Democrats and Media, we do not need traitors claiming to be conservatives (Bill Kristol has been so bad he makes David Brooks look like William F. Buckley--and than is not an exaggeration).

They can be democrats, or independents, or whatever they want to be, but they are not conservatives.  Maybe Kristol can marry Jen Rubin and the two of them can adopt McMullin (and then they can all go on a very long Weekly Standard cruise).

I know Trump has made mistakes--but there are bigger issues than that. Andrew McCarthy notes there is something rotten at the FBI.  So does Victor Davis Hanson.  These are guys from NeverTrump National Review that recognize this issue is bigger than Trump. The slow motion swamp coup could cause Trump and the country severe damage.

I want Trump to be successful. I want Trump to keep rolling back regulations, appointing judges, and even building that wall (although I would prefer e-verify and a digital follow up on visa entries).  So far he has mostly been conservative (way more than his most vocal critics)--let's encourage him to continue doing so.

There was a time, about a year ago, when conservatives didn’t like the idea of warrantless surveillance, that secret courts bothered them, that lying to judges was frowned upon. A time when we were actually skeptical of big, secretive government. Those days are past. Because Trump.
This, I suppose, is a break point between me and people who call themselves conservatives but who are mostly Never Trump. If you can’t even agree that political espionage under false pretense is a bad thing, we aren’t in the same party or political movement. We don’t even share a common understanding of what this nation is about.

  1. I've felt this way since the debates. Actually, my tipping point was the Chris Wallace question about accepting the results.

Trump entering the primary was the first time I heard any candidate get questioned about accepting the results. The GOP demanded he sign a document acknowledging he would accept the primary results and back the primary winner. Trump signed that note, as well other candidates (so the GOP could pretend it was impartial). Trump won the primary, and then virtually none of opposition candidates supported him. Jeb! went home and sulked. Kasich invented new ways to be topical while irrelevant. Cruz made an ass of himself at the convention. And then there is the McMuffin stupidity in Utah. The only person that reverted to humility to reconcile the party for the general was Trump (and perhaps Fiorina and Carson).

So Trump has now done what was asked, signed a stupid document, and then accepted the results. What's his rewards? Chris Wallace asking if he would accept the General Election results. You MF asshole, have you heard the name Al Gore? For that matter, do you recall how long it took for Hillary to bow out in 2008? Did you perhaps read about what she did to win in 2016? And the NeverTrumpers thought this was a great question, and were pissed at Trump's response. Trump's response was the best retort to the GOP's nominal failure to fight. The election hadn't happened yet. He didn't need to accept the results during the 2nd of 3 debates. That some on the right thought he was wrong, it convinced me I was not one of them.
