Not all of these posters and images are vintage (obviously) but some are and the new ones are well done.
Messy Nessy: WWII Aircraft Art
Rule 5 and FMJRADid you see the movie Pearl Harbor? Do you remember when Cuba Gooding grabbed the machine gun and shot down 2 planes? That is actually a true story and this is the man that did it. He was accredited with shooting down 2 planes and received the Navy Cross. #Hero pic.twitter.com/9ZnxdQvJ9A— Pissed Veteran (@usvetpissedoff) December 7, 2017

And the news clipping up top is a mere intimation of what the 43rd Division went through on New Georgia. Like a couple of other National Guard divisions, the politicians who were peacetime officers had not been vetted out (many were cronies of the likes of Franklin Roosevelt and James Curley) and the performance of the division suffered until they were relieved.
PS The heroics of Doris Miller were also shown in Tora, Tora, Tora.
