Hurricane Force Asshattery: Does Joel Osteen Deserves Asshat of the Day?

I gave Joel Osteen the benefit of doubt for a day or two, knowing how the media like to pounce on Christians. Still, this case of alleged asshattery for Osteen seems at least somewhat justified. I am willing to withdraw this if the facts play out different going forward. I know Christians shouldn't judge, but Joel Osteen is supposed to lead by example. So far, his was a bad example.
And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
Luke 17:26-27

While the Lakeside Church was not itself flooded (as initially claimed), there is a degree of merit pointing out it is not equipped to necessarily act as a shelter (because lack of kitchens, showers, etc.). What Osteen should do is commit his ministry (at least for now) to Houston's recovery and to those most in need. He does not need to apologize to me--he knows the one he needs to answer to. I know you can be saved by faith alone, but...

James 2:14-26 We are all sinners. We all need to contribute to the solution. I assume Osteen will open up this building, but we all need to open our hearts to those in need in Houston.
