Would you vote for Lynch?

It depends which Lynch... (it is actually an easy vote)

Anyone who can play like he can and drive the media BSC like he does has my vote. The Senate should just say no to Loretta Lynch.

Instapundit: Cruz warns about Lynch...
Regular Right Guy: Boehner was in the Tea Party before there was a Tea Party?
AmPowerBlog: Why do people hate Lynch? Because he is not playing for their team.

  1. Marshawn is mocking the rules. Should be banished from the NFL.

    He's worse than Eddie Cicotte.

    1. I love it. Screw the NFL and its media lackies and their hypocritical BS. I do not think most sport fans care (other than those who dislike the Seahawks or are rooting for the Pats). What is interesting is how this drives the media types absolutely bat shit crazy.

    2. Worse than Eddie Cicotte? You have to explain that one to me (I don't recall Lynch throwing any games for the Hawks).

    3. Sarc meter is about 1.5 psi off, Evi.

Marshawn's thrown exactly as many games as Brady & Belichick combined. Who are, you know, worse than the Black Sox.

I don't understand why righties don't uniformly love Bill Belichick, the only public figure who's willing to tell the media just how fucking stupid they are, while kicking that no-talent, son-of-a-NY-leftist-politician douchebag of a commissioner squarely in the nuts.

    Totally badass performance yesterday.

I find Belicheat entertaining and I do think he is a kick ass coach...a kick ass coach who cheats when he can get away with it. But SpyGate and deflating a football is not the same crime as throwing a World Series. And while I think Brady is a great QB, I do hope to see him Bradying at the end of Sunday's game.

    1. Right. Trying to win is very different from purposely losing. We've gotta keep perspective on this.

But I wonder what rule you think the Pats violated in Spygate. Not that I'd expect you (or anyone else) to know, since I myself only read up on it after Ballgate broke, but it's about the interpretation of a passage in the NFL's Game Operations Manual:

No video recording devices of any kind are permitted to be in use in the coaches' booth, on the field, or in the locker room during the game...All video shooting locations must be enclosed on all sides with a roof overhead.

BB read this guideline to mean that teams couldn't locate cameras on the sideline to shoot footage to be used for coaching purposed during that particular game. Taping sideline signals in general is SOP, just like taking pics of opponents' formations from the press box for use during a game.

How big a deal was this, really?

Jets Head Coach Eric Mangini—a former Patriots assistant coach—had reported the fact that the Patriots were taping from the sidelines to NFL Security. Mangini later stated, "I didn't think it was any kind of significant advantage, but I wasn't going to give them the convenience of doing it in our stadium, and I wanted to shut it down. But there was no intent to get the league involved. There was no intent to have the landslide that it has become."

Roger Goodell decided to hang Belichick from a yardarm to prove his authoriteh. Notice that the Pats didn't deny what they did.

I hate getting serious about stupid shit like this, but at some point there's gotta be some awareness of the facts we joke about.

BTW, that "taping the Rams walkthrough" prior to the SB was retracted the day after it was published by a Boston paper.

    2. I do not take #SpyGate or #DeflateGate that seriously, except for what it mean for the breasts of WAGs of the NFL.

I do think the Pats try to push the envelope to win (and occasionally they get caught). Appropriate penalty for #DeflateGate? Probably a draft pick and fine. But it might be owners like Kraft are getting sick of Robert Goodell's BS too and maybe they will try a new Commish.

    3. The Pats aren't the only ones who push the envelope, my friend.

... the Seahawks revolutionized pass interference by using the same logic loophole that offensive linemen have been exploiting for years with holding. The idea is: you hold on almost every play, knowing the refs won't throw 50 flags per game. If everything is holding, the thinking goes, then nothing really is. Brilliant. Seattle just took that approach and applied it to pass coverage and it was so effective and disruptive they forced the NFL to change the rules regarding defensive holding and pass interference.

    5. If I did, I'd call him Pete Cheatroll.

Hey, come to think of it, why not? :)
