William F. Buckley, Jr. and Saul Alinsky

There is a disturbing lizard quality to Saul Alinski's facial expressions

  1. This focus on "power" as the key to social interaction lies at the heart of contemporary leftism. I think it's why lefties instinctively side w/ losers like the Palestinians over successful societies like the Israelis. Same thing in domestic US politics.

Cons/libertarians' view of mutual gain from voluntary exchange doesn't seem to be comprehensible to the left. They reject it as a delusion, but can never clearly specify why it's wrong.

This is why comment-thread arguments b/w L and R never get anywhere, IMO.
