New York State to Ban Foie Gras?

New York State to ban Foie Gras?  I am surprised Nanny Bloomberg did not do so already in New York City.  You know what that means:  Get your foie gras here!  Get your foie gras here!  Get it while you can, they are trying to get Amazon to ban it too!

All this time I though Foie Gras was a type of French cheese. I just googled it to find out why it was banned and found out that its the liver of a duck force fed corn through with a gavage.

    Yikes!

The best way to bring an end to such a thing is not to stop the supply but to stop the demand, through awareness.

I am going to show videos of the process this week to my children and I'm willing to bet none of them will ever want to eat that crap.

    1. That is okay. I am not a fan of factory farms, for obvious reasons that I am a cow. But I do not care for the easy cheap virtue of banning foie gras to make one feel more virtuous. You are right, it is far more effective to argue cruelty in producing food and products is wrong. Which led to mild fed veal pretty much disappearing. And baby seal skin coats.

Foie gras is actually delicious. But I am okay with a lesser product that avoids stuffing a goose till it bursts.
