The Obama Administration and the Democrats want to put black boxes in your passenger vehicles and make it a crime if you disable it...what could go wrong?

This is not a good idea...
Bruce McQuain reports (note that this has already passed the Senate and is now in the House):
Yesterday I pointed to a piece of legislation that is in the House right now (after being passed by the Senate) which would give the IRS the power to confiscate your passportwithout judicial review and merely on the suspicion you owe a certain amount of back taxes.Given the Orwellian name Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act or MAP-21,  the legislation also mandates that all new cars have a “event data recorder” installed starting in 2015...
Map-21 H.R. 14 is sponsored by Congressperson Tim Bishop (Democrat, New York 1).  There is no provision to opt out and you will be criminally liable if you disable your black box.

Update:  Bruce also posts at the Conservatory...

  1. This legislation makes Clinton's last minute pardon of Marc Rich (for tax evasion) a complete joke.

    1. It is insane and I cannot believe more Americans are not howling over this. Think of what your insurance company could do with this data.
