Central Indiana native here. He’s mostly correct, except his pork isn’t pounded thinly enough. Cut a 3/4 to 1 inch piece of loin and pound it about half his thickness. By not butterflying the meat, you don’t get the weak spot that split on him.
Yes, it’s much larger than the bun and has to have mayo and mustard. Tomato onion, etc are optional.
