I was no fan of Rob Reiner's politics, but this is just horrific. Both Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Singer Reiner are dead. It is reported their son Nick may be responsible. RIP.
Rob and I remained good friends ever since we made GHOSTS OF MISSISSIPPI. The studio didn’t think I was old enough to do the part, but Rob fought for me. Political differences never stood in the way of our love and respect for each other. I am devastated by this terrible event. https://t.co/eL1lurqyzV

I didn't often agree with Rob Reiner’s politics but he was a brilliant man, with a good heart.

This was his beautiful reaction to Charlie Kirk’s assassination on @piersmorgan only two months ago.
I hope in his memory, we follow his example 💙#riprobreiner pic.twitter.com/l03riUX2ws

If the only film Reiner ever produced was The Princess Bride, that achievement alone would have entitled him a seat in the Cooperstown of the Hollywood pantheon, and for that and much more, he was a talented and gifted artist.
ReplyDeleteHis outspoken political nonsense just confirmed that he was always and forever The Meathead IRL.
If it was, in fact, their son who did this, it's tragic.
But no one is going to miss Meathead's political commentary, and its absence will be as a hole is in water: non-existent.
Terrible news.
