On a commercial level, that is true. Wild Atlantic Salmon has been over fished commercially. You can catch and keep wild Atlantic Salmon on certain private rivers in the UK and Ireland, but that is about it. Atlantic Salmon is a type of char. I prefer Pacific wild salmon too.
The only wild caught Salmon is from the Pacific. Atlantic Salmon is OK, but I prefer Alaskan Salmon.
