Not just ther Marines, but almost the entire US Army. In addition to the landings on Kyushu and later Honshu (US 1st, 6th, and 8th Armies), the US 4th Army was going to land on Hokkaido, the US 10th Army was headed for Korea, and the US 5th and 9th Armies were to clear China (where half the Japanese Army).
