Business Insider: If the "fence" is not on the border itself, it falls under state jurisdiction
I was disappointed in the recent Supreme Court decision on this. Sounds like Governor Abbott's interpretation of this ruling, however, is a win for state sovereignty! And do not buy the lie about "migrants" drowning due to actions by the State of Texas. These illegal aliens are crossing a river in winter and the Mexican government is not stopping them. Those particular people drowned on the Mexican side of the river. Tragic and sad, but also self inflicted, and not the fault of Texas officials.
Instapundit: The media are misleading you about what the SCOTUS decision really means, Gov Abbott on Texas right of self defense, SCOTUS sides with Biden, and border decision
Legal Insurrection: Texas not allowing feds to cut wire
Breitbart: Texas and Gov promises border showdown
Holy sh*t.
