While I agree spending is out of control, is a shut down now the politically right thing to do? Does that benefit Democrats more than Republicans? We do need to get spending under control or eventually a shut down will come that won't be political posturing, but painful reality.
I do not envy the position Kevin McCarthy is in. He did manage to keep Ukraine funding out of the 45 day extension, but no money for border security.
