Team Biden and Democrats really do not care about the working class anymore (they are way too conservative or moderate for their tastes)--the Dems are buying votes from college educated young people (mostly white). This also benefits acadamia, which is overwhelmingly left leaning Democrat Marxist-Socialist. That is why the Democrats are pushing through something they claimed they couldn't do just last year. 

 We might ask, how did this happen? Why the right lost the student loan fight:

It is easy to see why this is happening. The Biden administration is deeply underwater in the polls, the midterms are approaching, and good, old-fashioned bribery remains an effective tool in politics.
