I have mixed thoughts on the Tiger Mom thing. Yes, teaching children to understand deferring immediate pleasure for future rewards are critical to success. At the same time, letting kids pursue things on their own is critical to creativity. But given her daughters are doing fine, it is obvious that Amy Chua is doing far more right than wrong.
It seems Amy Chua and her husband are in the sights of Yale's politically correct woke Karens. And probably a lot of it is not substantive, but political. They dis anyone who disagrees with them and overly praise their own. There is nothing objective about the left, just a thirst for political power.
