When Hollywood productions go bad, they can really go bad. This film (the 1996 version) is right up there with Heaven's Gate, Showgirls, and other colossal flops.
I bring it up only because H.G. Wells (in a way) was just a hundred and twenty five years or so ahead of events with Dr. Fauci and his Wuhan Lab. Which goes to show, when CDC and NIH productions go bad, they can really go bad.

I enjoyed the book and you can read it here. The Island of Lost Souls was a favorite of mine. The seventies version was not as good, but still better than the 1996 version.
