Mark Steyn as usual is spot on. Love Actually is crap. I can watch it occasionally as a guilty pleasure of noting what crappy film it is. That this is well liked in UK (and not in a sardonic way), does not reflect well on the UK. The Apartment, in comparison, is transcendent. It does not immediately jump out at you as a Christmas movie (like Die Hard) but it definitely is. The more you watch it, the more you appreciate the effort of everyone in it and Billy Wilder's direction.
