Ralph Peters: The War in 2020

 

I read this book when it came out. I liked it at the time. It was quickly pre-empted by the actual fall of the Soviet Union. I don't have a copy of it now, but it made all sorts of predictions on weapons systems and geo-political events, which were mostly wrong (although some were sort of right). Peters does predict a viral pandemic, but it was 10 years earlier and way more lethal than Covid-19. The basic premise is the USA is fighting against the Japanese, Arabs, and South Africans in order to save the USSR from collapse. China is not really a big part of it. 

In 2018, Ralph Peters went NeverTrumer and denounced Fox News. I am not sure what horrible thing Trump and Fox News did to prompt that, but Ralph got all indignant about it. I am sure he voted for Biden and presumably he is all good with Fox News now (although not many are watching anymore). It will be interesting to see how off he is about his more recent predictions.
