El Cid: A Review

It is ok. A Spanish production financed by Amazon (the dubbing is horrendous), it also drags a bit getting started. It is an interesting take on El Cid and part of the Reconquista of Spain (mid 11th Century around the same time as the Battle of Hastings). If you can get through the slow start, it is something to stream better than that George Clooney crap.  Production levels are high, some beautiful cinematography (shot on location in Aragon and Castile where it mostly happened) and the acting is well done. The season is short (five episodes) but the time frame is just a portion of El Cid's early life as page and squire.
