These scenes are not exactly on point (unless Cuomo is in the wings ready to be the Barzani), but I think Brown already knows Harris is out. It is very unlikely this is about protecting Kamala Harris. Truth is she does not help Biden (I doubt few could help that dementia ravaged old man, but Harris probably hurts more than she helps). She has to drop out gracefully. Maybe Willie got the job of giving her the bad news.
