Losing Movie Theaters 📽️🎞️😢 Losing History

The prediction of the death of cinema is premature. Covid-19 is a terrible situation and causing all sorts of financial hardship, but it is not forever.  Yes, there will be fall out and closures, but we may find this may be an opportunity for other ventures, such as Drive-Ins and smaller movie houses.  While streaming is convienent, it is not the same as going to the movies.

I am less concerned about the decline of cineplex multi-theaters, than I am by the destruction of our history. Teddy Roosevelt being purged?  The American Museum of Natural History just made a very bad decision, throwing one of its founding patrons under the bus. This was done at the prompting of de Blasio.

This statute of Lenin was one of the Soviet leader statutes toppled by pro-Democracy forces back in the 1990s in Russia and former Soviet States. The one of Lenin above (formally in Czechoslovakia) was saved, shipped to Washington State, and displayed. It is still there in Freemont, Seattle. Yet this week statutes of George Washington,Thomas Jefferson, Ulysses S. Grant, and now even Teddy Roosevelt are being vandalized, torn down, or removed in the United States.
