Frankly it still amazes me the displays stores put on for what is essentially a small insignificant non-holiday. Then again, it is a lull period for sales (so when in doubt--get selling). Yet you can't just ignore it--it does behoove a guy who is in a relationship to at least get some flowers for the wife or girlfriend around this time of year. And as a blogger, I feel compelled to at least do a post or two on it. Wow, those marketers are good feeding one's insecurities.
