Spruce Goose Flight: November 2, 1947

Evergreen Flight Museum: Flight of the 'Spruce Goose'

The media gave the aircraft the name 'Spruce Goose' but Howard Hughes felt compelled to prove his critics wrong with a short flight at Long Beach, CA. Now the aircraft is at the Evergreen Flight Museum in McMinnville, Oregon.

Howard Hughes was legendary for dating lots of Hollywood starlets and socialite women. One of them was Barbara Pepper. Who later went on to play Dorris Ziffle on Green Acres
