I throw the old image of Levittown out there on how affordable housing changed this country post WWII.  Now, through the magic of regulation, we have made housing completely unaffordable in many locations (California especially comes to mind).  

Meanwhile, we implimented trade and immigration policies that have evicerated the middle and working class in this country. Read the whole article above. I do agree with all of it, but it raises some very important points.  

The Trump Administration, while far from perfect, has at least recognized the issue (removing regulation, challenging trade deals, and at least attempting to restrict illegal immigration has helped). The Democrat socialist reaction, while the absolutely wrong solution, is in response to the underlying economic uncertainty.
