  1. What a voice on Lane. Cheesy arrangements and lyrics diminish the listening prospects but in no way dim his talent.
    What possessed Peter Noon and company to take up the challenge? Good, if off the reservation, effort.

    1. I like the guitar more in the Herman's Hermits version. Frankie Lane's voice is amazing, but it over dominates the song (at little more focus on the orchestration would have further enhanced Lane's version). Think of how Nelson Riddle made Sinatra sound better.
