As much as the GOP is disappointed about losing the House, possible gaining in the Senate is YUGE
Not a total victory, but Trump's judicial nominations still go forward...

I think Trump's marathon campaigning helped--especially in the Senate. The Democrats also doomed any chance at the Senate with their Kavanaugh kamikaze attacks. There will be a squish or two in the Senate to appease Democrats and the media.
What doomed the House is too many Republicans retiring. There was also a failure by people like Paul Ryan to try to win (sorry Paul, but I will not miss you being around). Who are left will mostly back Trump.
Big shout out to Speaker Paul Ryan, the stealth Democrat who did nothing to lead his party to victory in this mid-terms.— Michael Haz (@Michael_Haz) November 7, 2018
In all fairness, Nancy Pelosi deserves to be chosen Speaker of the House by the Democrats. If they give her a hard time, perhaps we will add some Republican votes. She has earned this great honor!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 7, 2018
Paul Ryan is ostensibly a friend who can only make Trump look bad. Pelosi is an enemy who can only make Trump look good.— Dennis Miller (@DennisDMZ) November 7, 2018

Dems went for a knockout of @realDonaldTrump but his ferocious counter-attacks blunted their blows. By fighting back he minimized Dem gains to the House, even as he expanded his majority in the Senate. It's divided government now, but not one that can threaten to unrail @POTUS.— Geraldo Rivera (@GeraldoRivera) November 7, 2018
God summary; the statistics from the vote don't deviate far from the standard although some specific races were significant. The added numbers in the Senate are very important and Trump's response legislatively will be very important.
